Before it comes to the actual email archiving with MailShelf, a profile of the corresponding email mailbox needs to be created. Each email address has its own profile so you have always a clearly overview of your mailboxes.

With MailShelf, you can create as many email mailbox profiles as you need so there are absolutely no limits. Also, MailShelf provides you with a lot of features and options for each email mailbox profile allowing you to perfectly adjust your archiving task to your needs.

MailShelf supports all common email protocols such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office 365, IMAP4 as well as POP3 so you are able to archive nearly any email server.

Furthermore and for your convenience, MailShelf is also able to archive all common email clients like Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, Mozilla SeaMonkey as well as Postbox so you are able to archive your preferred email client with MailShelf with just a few clicks.

In addition, MailShelf also supports all common email file formats such as RFC822 compliant .eml files, Microsoft Outlook compliant .msg files, Microsoft Outlook .pst files, Microsoft Outlook Express .dbx files as well the MBOX file format which is the de-facto standard of UNIX.

Of course, you can edit or delete an existing profile at any time but deleting a profile has no effect on already archived messages. Even if a profile is deleted, all archived messages remain in the archive and can be deleted there if necessary.

This way you are able to delete obsolete email mailbox profiles from MailShelf by preserving archived emails of this mailbox
